Richard Abney of Blair, passed away July 17th, 1979 in Altus, Oklahoma. Services were held Friday, July 20th, 1979 at the Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Wayne Price officiating. Interment followed in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Richard Forman Abney was born to parents Bruce and Vera (Richards) Abney on September 6, 1932 in Noel, Missouri. He married Agnes Gahagon on October 7, 1955 in Parsons, Kansas. Mr. Abney retired from the military and later worked as a dispatcher at the Sheriff's Department and as a locksmith. He was a member of the Church of Christ, the DAV and the VFW.
Richard Foreman Abney is survived by his wife Agnes of the home; Douglas Alan Abney, Martha, Oklahoma; Jeffery Abney, Blair, Oklahoma; Dona Susan, Blair, Oklahoma; mother Vera Abney, Duncan, Oklahoma; one brother, Conley Abney of California and one sister Gail Dean Rousey, Tulsa, Oklahoma.
