Richard Warren "Dick" Moore
Richard Warren "Dick" Moore Sr. 71, longtime Altus businessman and civic leader, died at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital Tuesday night. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, March 15, 1991, 2:00pm in the First United Methodist Church officiated by Rev. Don Johnson. burial will be Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Moore was born August 6, 1919 in Enid, Oklahoma and was the son of Burton and Clara Hector Moore. He attended Edmond Public schools and graduated from Southwestern Oklahoma State University at Weatherford. On September 12, 1940, he married Melda Eaton of Weatherford, Oklahoma. In 1941 he entered the gas business with Consolidated Gas Utilities Corporation and held various positions.
Moore is survived by his wife Melda of the home; two sons, Richard Warren Moore, Jr. stockbroker in New York City and his wife, Barbara of Rye, New York, and Steven Eaton Moore and attorney and his wife Nancy of Oklahoma city; a sister, Camilla Surbeck, Tempe, Arizona; four grandchildren, Richard W. Moore III, Kathryn Davis Moore, Lisa Anne Moore,and Steven Scott Moore.
