Ricky was born February 13, 1953, in Altus, Oklahoma, to Charlie William "Bill" and Josephine Elizabeth (Wiginton) Cargal. He grew up in Blair and graduated from Blair High School in 1971. He attended Western Oklahoma State College in Altus and was a member of the Blair First Baptist Church.
Ricky and Imogene Brooks were married July 8, 1977, in Blair. They farmed their entire married life and purchased the All American in Blair in 2008. It soon became the community hub and is famous for the best brisket and home-made pies in Southwest Oklahoma.
Ricky loved growing wheat, alfalfa, and cotton, but his passion since age 13 was baling hay, not only for himself, but everyone in the community.
Ricky never said an unkind word and was loved by everyone. He will be remembered as an unselfish and generous man, always ready to support his community, school, and church.
Ricky and Imogene loved spending their evenings driving around the farms, checking their crops and cattle. They also loved traveling, especially their cruises with family and friends.
Ricky was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Jo Cargal, one sister, Twilla Starwalt, and one granddaughter, Holly Jean Powell. He is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Imogene, of the home; two daughters, Deanie Powell and husband Clay of Blair, and Sharon Wallace Hays and husband Robby of Altus; one son, Jud Cargal and wife Dawn of Blair; six grandchildren, Jason Wallace and wife Lacee of Altus, Kelby Wallace of Blair and fianc" Macie Gillam of Duke, Cody Powell, Wade Powell, Hunter Cargal, and McKenna Cargal, all of Blair; two great-grandchildren, Riley Powell and Ava Wallace; one sister, Carolyn Crabbe and husband Ron of Weatherford, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews, and a large host of friends.
