Robbie Lou McMinn Riley, age 60, of Altus, passed away late Thursday night, June 11, 2015, at English Village Nursing Home.
Robbie was born in Altus, Oklahoma on June 19, 1954, to Julius Herron McMinn, Jr. and Bobbie Caroline (Wood) McMinn. She grew up in Altus, where she graduated from Altus High School with the "infamous" class of "72. She graduated Altus Junior College in 1974, and then went on and received her bachelors in Business Administration from Central State University in Edmond, Oklahoma in 1976. On December 27, 1975, she married Richard Terrell Riley. Richard and Robbie made their homes in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Smoke Rise, Alabama, and eventually settling in Altus to raise their 3 children.
During her career, Robbie worked for the State of Louisiana and then later on the family business, Chevalley Moving & Storage, but her favorite job was getting to stay at home to raise her children. Robbie loved cheering on the OU Sooners, listening to music and her favorite hobby was getting to spend time with her grandbabies. Robbie was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Altus.
Proceeded in death by her father, Julius Herron McMinn, Jr., and one brother, Danny McMinn, her maternal and paternal grandparents. She is survived by her mother, Bobbie McMinn, her husband, Richard Riley, two daughters, Courtney Duncan and husband Walt, Katie Dowden and husband Nathan, and one son, Cody Riley and wife Kodie and her brother Roy McMinn, all of Altus; four beloved grandchildren, Brenna Duncan, Canyon & Jayse Dowden, and Keenum Riley, of Altus, along with several nephews and nieces and many other relatives and close friends.
Services for Robbie will be 10 am, Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Family visitation will be from 6 pm to 7 pm, Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
