Obituary for Robert L. Barber
Robert L. Barber, better known as Bob, departed Us on June 19, 1995. He was born on July 31, 1936 in Kansas City, Mo. to Perry and Alice Rosebaugh Barber. Bob met and married Shirley Ann Gardner of Blair, Oklahoma on the 18th of May, 1957, while serving his country for 10 years in the US Air Force. Bob retired from the U.S. Immigration Naturalization Service. He had been the manager of two Long John Silvers Stores, one in Springfield, Mo. and one in Elk City, Oklahoma for seven years before coming to Blair to be manager of Rick's Restaurant and Grill.
Mr. Barbers will be laying in State at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Wednesday from 8 am until 9 pm. A Memorial service has been scheduled for 1pm Thursday at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with Rev. Boyd Whitehead officiating. Memorials may be made to the Oklahoma research foundation Heart Division.
Survivors include his wife Shirley Ann Barber of the home, children, Jo Ellen Dickerson and Eddy of Blair, Oklahoma; Jamie Lynn Howell and Rick of Hawaii; Robert L. Barber, Jr. and Josie of Lexington, Kentucky; sisters Eunice Long of Kansas City, Mo. and Violet Oshel of Irving, Texas; four grandchildren; Sarah Lynn Howell, Carter Shane Brazell, Shonda Rae Brazell, robert Andrew Barber.
Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers, Elmer Barber and Wayne Barber.
