Obituary for Robert Martinez
Robert Martinez was born on October 15, 1971, in Hollis, Oklahoma, to Jose C. Martinez and Elva Lopez Martinez. Robert was an avid sports fan whose heart belonged to the Hollis Tigers. On Friday nights, you could always find him perched on the rock wall at the Hollis Tiger Stadium, cheering with all his heart. Whether watching games in person or on TV, Robert's enthusiasm made it feel like he was right there on the field, yelling for his teams with unmatched passion.

Robert was known for his humor and his ability to brighten any room. If you were having a rough day, he was the one to lift your spirits, always quick with a joke and a warm smile that made everything feel better. He brought joy wherever he went.

Above all, Robert was a proud and devoted father - "Dad" and "Honey" to Carlos and Cyerra. His love for them was unwavering and evident in everything he did. When he spoke of them, his whole face lit up with pride and love. He leaves behind a legacy of deep, unconditional love that will live on in their hearts forever.

Robert is survived by his mother, Elva Lopez; his beloved children, Carlos Garcia and Cyerra Faulks (and her husband Cade); his siblings, Norma Martinez, Sylvia Najera (Juan), Belia Villeda, Manual Martinez, Sue Martinez, Phillip Martinez (Andrea), Eddie Martinez, Roland Saavedra, Donna Lewis (Gary), and Eddie Thompkins (Dana); his brother-in-law, Paul Lizama; the mother of his children, Ramona Garcia; as well as many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins, family members, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jose C. Martinez; his brothers, Benny Martinez and Louis Martinez; and his sister, Mary Ann Lizama.

As the youngest of twelve siblings, some might say Robert got away with a little more than the rest-but those who knew him best know it was because he could always make you laugh before you could get mad. He brought joy, laughter, and love into the lives of everyone who knew him. His absence will be deeply felt, but his memory will continue to bring smiles for years to come. Robert passed away on August 27, 2025, surrounded by his family.

A celebration of Robert's life will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, Hollis, with Rev. Tim Tutten officiating. Local arrangements and cremation are under the care of the Harmon County Funeral Home.
