Obituary for Robert Omer Maxwell
Robert "Bob" Omer Maxwell, passed away May 3, 2019 in Oklahoma City at the Veterans Hospital in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Bob was born September 22, 1944 in Prescott, Arizona to Omer and Myrtle Maxwell. His father Omer worked as a miner in Arizona, and was a bullrider. Bob loved his father and was incredibly proud of him. He moved to Decatur and Gentry Arkansas when he was in the 7th grade. He graduated from high school in Arkansas. He joined the United States Marine Corps on December 28, 1964 and served until December 26, 1970. He proudly served two tours in Vietnam.
Bob married Sharon Kay (Yocham) Maxwell October 31, 2005. He worked as a heavy equipment operator retiring in 2014. He worked for Bobby Drennon in Elk City, Haskell Lemon in Oklahoma City , Larry Johnson Farms in Granite, He had a small farm near Mangum where he raised cattle and cut alfalfa.
Bob enjoyed playing domino's with Robert Yocham (Sharon's father), fishing ,hunting, shuffle board, pool, his dogs and cats, Popcorn, Peak-a-boo, Casey- Goose and Penny; two cats, Pus-Pus and Fish, a bull named Chicago, horse named Cherokee. Loved to ride his bicycle and carry the chicken in the basket.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Omer and Myrtle Maxwell, a brother Jerry, a sister Carol, and one grandson Abel Maxwell.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon, sons, Michael "Mikey" Maxwell and wife Jennica, Ben Maxwell, Rickey Maxwell, step-children, Mike, Robert, Mickey, Johnny, Tony, Jenny, grandchildren Jaycent, Lorelai, Auron, Shayden, sister Donna Sue (Hall) Gillespie and husband Thomas.
