Obituary for Rodney Eugene Walton
Rodney Eugene Walton passed from this life, January 6, 2020, at his home in Mangum, Oklahoma. Rodney was born January 9, 1959 in Linton, Indiana, to Wendell and Evelyn (Harris) Walton. The family moved to Austin, Texas and Bastrop, Texas from 1970-1983. He then moved to Colorado and came to Mangum in 1985 and met the woman he would spend the rest of his life with. He married Raqel Padron on September 13, 1991 in Vernon, Texas.
Rodney was knowledgeable and hardworking. He did construction labor mostly until he started working in the street department for the City of Mangum, where he later retired.
Rodney was an-avid Notre Dame fan and a loving and devoted grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, family and friends. He also enjoyed tending to his farm animals.
Rodney was a spiritual man. He had a very strong faith and his love for God, was evident to everyone that was around and would listen. He was a great role model and will be missed greatly. This is not goodbye; I know he is at peace now.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Wendell And Evelyn Walton and his brother; Charles Ray Walton
He is survived by his wife of the home, Raqel Walton; Sons, Michael Eugene Walton and Raymon Earl Walton II and fiancé Lindsey; Daughter, Brittney Walton-Martinez and husband Antonio; Brother Michael David Walton; Sister’s, Beverly Walton-Goertz, Mona Walton, and Paula Walton-Gavin; Grandchildren, Camille Julia Rose Walton, Jayden Mykel Niles, Jasmyn Marie Niles, and Ariel Paige Chambless
Many nieces, nephews and extended family that he loved dearly.
