Roger Anthony Bingham, a devoted family man, faithful servant of God, and proud veteran, who passed peacefully at his home in Altus, Oklahoma, surrounded by his loving family at the age of Eighty on April 1, 2025.
Born in Springfield, Vermont, to Randolph and Florence (Ferguson) Bingham, Roger was one of twelve siblings, forging early the strong bonds of family that would define his life. After graduating from Springfield High School in 1962, he answered the call of duty, enlisting in the United States Air Force, where he served with honor for over two decades. As a skilled helicopter mechanic, he braved four tours in Vietnam and was stationed across the globe, from North Dakota to Germany, before retiring with an honorable discharge in 1983.
It was at Altus Air Force Base that fate introduced him to the love of his life, Janet Martha Garrison. Their enduring love story began with marriage on February 8, 1963, and together they built a beautiful family of three children, who were his greatest pride.
A man of deep faith, Roger was a devoted member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, living his beliefs through service, kindness, and unwavering love for Christ. His passions were as vibrant as his spirit—whether riding with the Harley Owners Group, tinkering with engines, camping under open skies, or savoring quiet mornings at the Sunrise Café and Friendship Inn, where laughter and stories flowed as freely as the coffee.
Roger’s legacy is carried on by his loving children: Anthony O’dell Bingham and wife Shannon Faye Bingham, Sandra Marie Roberts and Tim Hunter, and Jill Ann Lovett; his siblings Kenneth Bingham, Francis Bingham, Ronald Bingham, Gail Fairbank, Donna Boisselle, Mary Dedrick, Janice Breiner, Martha Ouellette, Margaret Bingham, and Linda Calleri; his cherished grandchildren, Thomas Lee Cornelison, and wife Jocelyn, Ciara Jerez and husband Alejandro, Sommer Marie Bingham, April Lynn Cornelison, Bethany Ann Bingham, Lucas Allen Lapham, Ryun Anthony Bingham and wife Rosabella, Tyler Matthew Lapham and wife Samantha, Justin Dean Dozier, Stephanie Dozier, Aleshia Lapham, Great grandchildren, Lily Ann Cornelison, Katherine Aurora Cornelison, Evelyn Mae Cornelison, Skarlette Lee Cornelison, Jazzlyn Cornelison, Emily Jerez, Aaliyah Dozier, Auriella Dozier; and countless friends who were family to him, including his dear friend Shirley Mansfield.
He is joyfully reunited in heaven with the love of his life, Janet; his parents; his sister, Judith Bingham; and cousin, Paul Ferguson.
A man of strength, faith, and boundless love, Roger’s memory will forever be a beacon of devotion—to his country, his God, and, above all, his family.
"Well done, good and faithful servant." — Matthew 25:23
