Roland Clarence Fry
Roland Clarence (R.C.) Fry, age 89, of Altus, passed away Thursday morning, May 11, 2006, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Fry was born on August 23, 1926, in Marion, Kansas to Frank Richard and Bertha (Rath) Fry. After graduation from high school he attended business college for two years before serving in the United States Navy. He married Dorothy Cobb on March 18, 1939 in Purcell, Oklahoma and was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and First Baptist Church of Altus. Working for the United States Bureau of Reclamation for a number of years he retired from the U.S. Postal Service after seventeen years of service.
Preceded in death by his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dorothy of Altus; three daughters, Connie Dubnick of Midwest City, Oklahoma, Betty Hammack of Shertz, Texas, and Ronda Leitenberger of St. Petersberg, Florida; seven grandchildren, Dewayne James, Teresa Dunlap, Leslie Dubnick, Dena Farrell Justin Hammack, Michelle Sinner, Chris Lyons; four great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; one brother, Roy Fry of Kingston, Oklahoma along with many other relatives and friends.
