Obituary for Roland Edward Hall
Roland Edward Hall 75, of Duke passed away Sunday, September 17, 1995, in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Roland was born July 14, 1920, in Duke, Oklahoma, the son of the late Ernest Edward and Gladys (Lankford) Hall.
On December 17, 1938, Roland and Ruth Young were united in marriage at Hollis, Oklahoma. They made their home in the Duke area, where Roland farmed most of his life. He also managed the Duke Farmers Union Co-op for 45 years. He was a long time member of the Duke Church of Christ. Roland had served on the Jackson County ASCS Committee for 35 years and the Duke School Board for 30 years. He was a member of the Woodman of The World, Farmers Union and the Duke Chamber of Commerce. He was a veteran of World War 11, having served with the United States Army.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents; one infant brother, Calvin Larkin Hall; and one infant sister, Sharlott Maurice Hall.
He is survived by Ruth, his wife of 56 years, of the home; two sons and daugthers-in-law, Gary and Susan Hall and Danny and Vickie Hall, of Duke, three daughters and their husbands, Sharron and Nick Schnorrenberg of Oklahoma City, Risa and Ken Darby of Duke, and Dana and Richard Darby of Altus; one brother, Cecil Hall of Hawthorne, California; one sister, Lurlene Perry of Yuma Az. nine grandchildren and their spouses, Michael and Kimberly Milner of Hollis; Oklahoma, Rafe and Melissa Hall and Monica and Chris Claussen, all of Oklahoma City; Staci and don Cope of Altus, Jason Hall of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Dantz Hall and Drew Darby , both of Duke, Benjamin Darby of Altus, and Clayton Darby of Duke, as well as many relatives and friends.
