Obituary for Ronald Eugene Babione
Ron Babione was born November 17, 1929, on his family farm southeast of Custer City, Oklahoma. He was the son of the late Lester Eugene and Estella (Cork) Babione. He passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2001 in the Integris Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City. Ron worked on the family farm and attended the Custer City schools until 1940 when his family moved to Clinton. After graduation from Clinton High School, he attended Southwestern State University in Weatherford, Oklahoma, and became active in the Army National Guard. He was a longtime resident of Altus and Jackson County, a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Altus. Ron owned and operated R &B Spraying company.
Ron and Bonita Lankford Etheridge were married over twenty years.
He is survived by his wife Bonita of the home in Altus, Oklahoma, four children, Charlotte Lovett and husband, Danny of Norman, Oklahoma, Ronny Babione and wife, Susan, of Altus, Oklahoma, R.E. "Rusty" Babione of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Bruce Babione and wife, Debbie of Ft. Polk Louisiana; mother-in-law, Wanda Lankford of Altus, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, James Loavett of Norman, Oklahoma, R.C. Babione and wife Bridget, of Vernon, Texas, Molly Babione of Norman, Oklahoma, Matt Babione and wife, Valerie, of Lawton, Oklahoma, Lindsay Pickle and husband, Preston, of Hinesville, Georgia; and two great grandchildren, Caleb and Joshua Babione of Vernon, Texas, brother-in-law and sisters-in-law; Larry and Judy Lankford of Snyder, Oklahoma and Arnold and Donna Lankford of Altus, Oklahoma; nieces and nephjews, Burneele Bates, Duane Lankford, Roger and Melissa Neal, Crystal and Chuck Bailey, Kolby Lankford, Kris Lankford, two great-nieces and two great-nephews. He will be deeply missed by his special friend, :Cheesecake" and a host of many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one sister Phyllis Bridges, father-in-law, L.S. "Runt" Lankford.
Funeral services are scheduled for Friday August 3, 2001 at 10:00 am in the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Bill Osborne officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus city Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
Family will have visitation Thursday August 2, 2001 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
