Ronald Gene Parrish died September 23, 2999 at his home in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma after a lengthy illness.

He Was born June 9, 1927 in Corning, Arkansas to Ida (Snodgrass) Parrish and Grady Ellison Parrish.

He moved to Altus with his family in 1928. He attended Altus schools until enlisting in the Navy in 1943. He was stationed in San Diego and the Phillipine Islands. After World War II he joined the 82nd Airborne stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia. Following his discharge he was with the Oklahoma National Guard as Supply Sargent for the 245th Heavy Tank Battalion 45th Division. He went to Korea with the 45th and joined the 1th Ranger Infantry Airborne in Japan from 1950 to 1952

On May 6, 1949 in Vernon Texas Ronald Gene Parrish and JoAnn Ryan were united in marriage. Ronald attended Okmulgee Tech. from 1953-1954. He worked in Altus as an electrician for many years. He moved to Oklahoma City to open "Ron's Electric for several years until he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Jim Parrish and Dan Parrish , one sister Elsie (Parrish) Warren.

He is survived by three daughters; Ronda Parrish and Robby Dart of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Andrea Smith and husband Randy of Altus, Oklahoma, Tracy Harris and husband Cliff of Sacramento, California; three sons, Stuart Parrish of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Matt Parrish and wife Lisa of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Ann Ryan Parrish of Altus, Oklahoma' two sisters;
Anna Lee Hunt and husband Charley of Chickasha, Oklahoma, Theda Berry and husband Ervin of Prescott, Arizona; six grandchildren, Rachel Hudgens, Alishia Parrish
Starla Parrish, Casey Smith,Nikki Smith and Renae Ross, one great grandchild, Jayde Hudgens, one sister-in-law Dorothy Parrish, one niece and six nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 27, 2000 at 2:00 pm in the Lowell Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Mark Morey officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

Family will have visitation Tuesday evening , September 26, 2000 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers memorials mya be made to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation c/o (Leukemia Research) 825 N. E. 13th Street, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73104 In memory of Ronald Gene Parrish.
