Obituary for Ronald Vern Collins
Ronald Vern Collins, 59, passed away Saturday, February 4, 1995 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
He was born February 22,1935, at Maude, Oklahoma, the son of the late William Rex and Evelyn Lucille (Branch) Collins. At the age of 12 years old, he moved to the Carman Childrens Home, in Carman, Oklahoma, where he was reared by the Rev. and Mrs John T. Mahoney.
On June 18, 1954,Ronald and Ruby Gale Miller were united in marriage at Cowden, Oklahoma. Mr. Collins was an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Holiness Church where he pastored churches in Eldorado, Hammon, Cordell, Elk City, and Altus, Oklahoma, as well as Dodge City Kansas. He was the owner of Collins Fence Company in Altus.
Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant brother.
He is survived by his wife, Gayle; two sons and daughter-in-laws, Ronald Dale and Patti Collins and Rickey Steven and Sharon Collins, all of Altus; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Elizabeth and Glen Goforth, also of Altus; three brothers, Jim Collins of Walls, Mississippi, Tom Collins of Texarkana, Texas; and Ken Henry of Crowell, Texas; one sister, Bea Hamilton of Bonham,Texas; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two special friends, Sue Austin and Karen Looney; as well as a host of other friends and relatives.
