Obituary for Roscoe Harrison Barker
ROSCOE HARRISON BARKER Roscoe Harrison Barker, age 77 longtime Blair resident passed away Friday, December 1, 2000 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. He was born February 7, 1923 in White Flat, Oklahoma to Charlie and Ruby (Griffin) Barker. On May 1, 1946 in Wellington, Texas, Roscoe and Ruth Carol Hawkins were united in marriage. She preceded him in death November 30, 1999. He married Beulah Dodd on February 14, 2000. Mr. Barker served with the United States Army for several years, and was honorably discharged. He worked as a mechanic for many years, until he retired. He enjoyed working in his yard, fishing and especially playing dominoes. He always enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Blair. He is survived by his wife Beulah of the home in Blair: four children, Dawn Hayes of Blair, Oklahoma, Glenn Barker and his wife Glenda of Altus, Oklahoma, Rhonda Wallace an husband Pat of Blair, Oklahoma, Cindy Eason of Mesa, Arizona: one brother, Chester Ray "Corky" Barker of Martinez, California, ten grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, five step-children, Edmond Rutter, Ronald Eugene Rutter, George Dodd, Carolyn Williams, Mary Simmons, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ruth Carol Barker, one daughter, Linda Cargal, one son Mike Barker, one brother, Charles Herschel Barker, one grandson, Zack Hayes. Funeral Services are scheduled for Monday, December 4, 2000 at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church in Blair, Oklahoma with Rev. Randy Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
