Ruby Loraine Dreyer, age 86, of Granite, passed away Monday, March 27, 2017, at her residence, in Granite.
Mrs. Dreyer was born in Beckham County, Oklahoma, in a half dugout, on June 5, 1930, to William Lee and Fannie Ellen (Yandell) Snider. After attending school at Erick, she later graduated from the Sayre Nursing School and worked in the nursery and delivery at the Sayre Hospital while helping her daddy with the farming. In 1954, she moved to Port Aransas, Texas where she met and married Edgar (Junior-Mullet) Dreyer on June 8, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1993. In the late fifties they moved to Louisiana with Junior"s job and in the mid-sixties they moved back to Greer County where she lived until her death. Ruby loved her family dearly and loved spending time with them.
Preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one granddaughter, Myra Lehrmann; one grandson, Tony King; four brothers and two sisters, she is survived by five children, Carolyn Hokett and husband Danny of Hobart, Mary Schoolcraft and husband Laurence of Lone Wolf, Bobby R. Dreyer and wife Tammy of Granite, Gary King and wife Debra of Texas, Teresa Jones and husband Charlie of Sayre and Tonya Bradford and husband Johnny of Altus; one sister, Alma Wardwell and husband Robert of Stage Coach, Nevada; twenty-four grandchildren; forty-eight great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services for Ruby Loraine Dreyer will be at 2 p.m., on Friday, March 31, 2017, at Riverside Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
