Rufus Warden age 76, was born January 31, 1919, in Rockston, Texas, the son of Thomas Newman and Laura "Alvis" warden. He was a longtime resident fo Jackson County, he attended the Prairie Hill and Altus Schools. He was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. Mr. Warden passed away Friday, April 28, 1995, at his home after a lengthy illness. Graveside services will be at 1`0:00am. Monday, May 1, 1995, in the Altus City Cemetery with Rev. Dave Bucher officiating. Burial will follow under direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. He was a retired Cab Driver and the V.F.W.
Survivors include brother Carl Ripley Warden of St. Paul, Minn.; sister Velva Jane Patrick of Altus, Oklahoma; a host of nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by parents; one sister; four brothers.
