Obituary for Ruth Carol Baker
Ruth Carol Barker, age 73 of Blair, Oklahoma passed away Tuesday, November 30, 1999 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She was born September 15, 1926 in Blair, Oklahoma to Murry and Lura (Dennis) Hawkins. On May 14, 1946 in Wellington, Texas. Ruth and Roscoe Baker were united in marriage. Ruth had lived in the Blair community for many years. She had several hobbies she enjoyed especially watching basketball and spending time with her family.
Ruth was very devoted to her family, she was always there when they needed her. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Blair.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, December 2, 1999 at 2:00pm at the First Baptist Church in Blair with Rev. Randy MItchell and J.V. Oden officiating. Burial will follow in the Blair Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
She is survived by her husband Roscoe of the home in Blair, Oklahoma, five children, Dawn Hayes of Blair, Oklahoma, Mike Barker and wife Etta of Blair, Oklahoma, Glen Barker and wife Glenda of Altus, Oklahoma, Rhonda Wallace and husband Pat of Blair, Oklahoma, Cindy Eason of Mesa, Arizona; four brothers, Houston Hawkins and wife Lil of Gainesville, Texas, Paul Hawkins and wife Helen of Lake Texoma, and George Hawkins and wife Joyce also of Lake Texoma; one aunt, Farrell Davis of Blair, Oklahoma; fourteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins and many friends.
She id preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda Cargal, one grandson Zack Hayes.
