Obituary for Ruth Jeanette Strickland
Ruth Jeanette (Ansel) Strickland, age 77, of Altus, died Thursday, May 21st, 1987, morning at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Graveside services have been set for 9:00 A.M. Saturday morning at the Eldorado Cemetery officiated by Rod Carroll. Arrangements are with Lowell Funeral Home.

Born November 28, 1909 at Akron, NY, she was the daughter of Leon and Ethel Finch. She had been a resident of English Village Nursing Home. Her husband John Ansel preceded her in death in 1947, as did a daughter, Diane Sellers in 1979.

Survivors include: two sons, John Ansel, Jr. of Baltimore, MD and Raymond Ansel of Vernon, TX; one daughter, Joyce Goss of Altus; two sisters, Grace Cheavacci of Akron, NY and Beatrice Davis of California; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren.
