Obituary for Sandy Hopingardner
Sandra K “Sandy” Hopingardner, 63, lifelong resident of Mangum, Oklahoma, passed away on October 28th, 2021, in Mangum. Sandy was born on May 17th, 1958 to Ancil and Gladys Gifford in Mangum, Oklahoma and was the youngest of 9 children. She attended school in both Granite and Blair, Oklahoma. Sandy married the love of her life, Clarence on August 27th, 1977 and in 1980 the two were blessed with one son, Christopher. Sandy worked several jobs through the years and then went to work as the Greer County court clerk until she retired in 2014. Sandy was a devoted follower of Jesus and was a proud member of the Lighthouse Church. She enjoyed wood work and crafting, loved being out in nature and had a huge passion for animals. She was especially fond of her two dogs Rowdy and Lola. Sandy took pleasure in the simplest of things in life and the most important thing in the world to her, was her family and spending as much time as she could with them.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents, Ancil and Gladys Gifford and her nephew, Paul Gifford.
Sandy is survived by her loving husband of forty-four years, Clarence Hopingardner; her son, Christopher Hopingardner and wife Jessica of Mangum, OK; brother, Glen Gifford and wife Dana of Elk City, OK; brother, Jerald Gifford and wife Janet of Granite, OK; sister, Jan White and husband Gene of Altus, OK; sister, Mary Bolin and husband Mitchell of Hobart, OK; sister Shirley Wardrop of Pelham, AL; sister, Arline Thompson of Roosevelt, OK; sister, Linda Self of Blair, OK; sister, Debbie Buchanan of Mangum, OK; Grandchildren, Mason Hopingardner and Jaycee Harvey, both of Mangum, OK as well as a host of nieces, nephews and a whole slew of other extended family members.
Sandy was loved tremendously by everyone that knew her and she will most certainly be missed.
