Sarah Cypress (Capps) Shipman, age 88, was born in Hardin County, Texas, near Votow and died December 19, 1986 in Norman, OK. When she was eight years old, the C. O. Red family moved from Lufkin, TX in 1907, to Southwest of Blair. She had lived in and near Blair until 1981. Since that time she had lived in Norman, OK.
On February 8, 1920, she was married to Robert Raynor (Ray) Capps, who preceded her in death on February 1, 1974. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Oma Hand.
Survivorsa include: her husband Roscoe Shipman who is in a nursing home in Stillwater, OK; four children, Onzel Capps of Othello, WA, Dr. Verl Capps of Grand Prairie, TX, Norma Stephenson, Norma, OK and Oma Gean Holt of Blair, OK; one sister, Carrie Harper; one brother, Lucas Red, both of Visalia, CA.
She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
