Shirley Jean Clark – Welch,69, resident of Altus, Oklahoma passed away June 24, 2022, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Shirley was born November 24, 1941, to Jesse and Rosalie Duke in Tipton, Oklahoma. Shirley was raised and educated in Altus, Oklahoma.
She worked for Public Supply in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma helping to construct commercial and residential windows before retiring in 2000. When Shirley retired in 2000, she returned home to Altus, Oklahoma.
In her retirement, she enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening, and painting, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family. She had a unique and special relationship with each of her children. Her children were great, but her grandchildren were her world. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and lavishing them with attention. Shirley had a special bond with her great-granddaughter, Eavenly Welch, from her birth they were inseparable.
Shirley was in the Baptist church and was baptized in her teenage years at Tabernacle Baptist Church. For many years she attended Perry Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Duke; Mother Rosa Lee Duke, son, Rodger Clark, brothers, Delbert, Benny, Donald; sisters, Alice, Ruthy, Darlene, Palet; and great-grandson Lazaro Yanez, Jr.
Left to honor Shirley's memory are three sons, Alfred Clark, Jacob Welch, Junior Welch; four daughters Deborah Clark, Brenda Herrera, Maggie Miller and Sherri Ramirez; Sister, Betty Duke; twenty grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and a host of friends that Shirley loved and treated them as family.
