Steven Ray Thompson, age 49, of Okmulgee, Oklahoma and formerly of Mangum, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital, in Tulsa.
Steve was born in Mangum, Oklahoma on March 11, 1967, to Charlie Ray and Janet Sue (Lynch) Thompson and raised by his grandparents, Jake and Jessie Mae Thompson. Living in Reed, Steven attended Mangum School and begin working as a painting contractor at a young age. Spending most of his life in Greer County, he moved to Okmulgee in 2014, where he worked in the construction field and continued his painting. On May 30, 2015, he married Carolyn Sue Miracle, in Mangum, and they made their home in Okmulgee until his untimely death.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, he is survived by his wife, Carolyn Thompson, of the home; one son, Cody Thompson and wife Elizabeth of Lawton; two grandchildren, Kolton Jake Thompson and Legend Thompson; three sisters, Chanda Clark and husband Dewayne of Mangum, Kelly Williams and husband Mike of Blair and Juli Coffey and husband Timothy of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; five brothers, Chris Thompson of Mangum, Charlie Ray Thompson, Jr. and wife Betty of Ponca City, Oklahoma, Ronald Coffell and wife Desarae of Blair, Justin Thompson of California and Dustin Thompson of Oregon along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Steven Thompson will be at 2 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, at the Living Water First United Pentecostal Church with Todd McRay, Shawn Laughlin and Shawn Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at the Reed Cemetery under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
