Obituary for Susan Carol Bagg
Susan Carol Bagg passed away July 23, 2015 in Altus, Oklahoma, at the age of 64, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. The daughter of Clarence and Hazel (Winters) Schmidt, Susan, graduated from Lone Wolf High School in 1969. She continued her education at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Upon completion of their Short Business School Program, she was hired by the Department of the Air Force, Altus Air Force Base, Oklahoma, in July of 1971 as a clerk-stenographer for the Flight Surgeon's Office in the base hospital. In a career that spanned over 35 1/2 years of Federal service, which included working at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois, and Nellis Air Force Base, Nevada, she returned to Altus Air Force Base in 1979 where she worked again as a secretary in the base hospital and later for the Chief of Morale, Welfare and Recreation. In 1984, she began working in the Civilian Personnel Flight as an Employee Relations Clerk and later as an Employee Relations Specialist. She was selected as Chief of Employee and Labor Relations in 1993. In 2000, she was promoted to the position of Civilian Personnel Officer. She was honored in 2002 as the Air Force Outstanding Civilian Personnel Officer but never accepted credit, always acknowledging her staff for her success. She continued in the position until the time of her retirement in January of 2007.

Susan married Robert H. Bagg Jr. on August 8, 1998 in Altus, Oklahoma, and through the years, they shared many wonderful moments together. She also welcomed Bob's daughters and grandchildren with open arms. She was previously married to Bill Pike of Blanchard, Oklahoma.

Susan was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Her greatest joy and most cherished memories were of the wonderful times shared with her family, whom she loved dearly. She enjoyed traveling and reading, loved to bake, took pride in her gardening and was an avid OU and Thunder sports fan. A woman of strong faith, Susan was a faithful member of Grace United Methodist Church, Altus, Oklahoma, where she chaired and served on various committees and fundraisers through the years.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Hazel Schmidt; grandparents, Billie and Ollie Winters and G.H. and Lulah Schmidt, all of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob, of the home; son, Rod Pike and daughter-in-law, Heather, and grandchildren, Zoe and Layton, of Edmond, Oklahoma; daughters, Kellie Johnson and grandchildren, Jacob, Kaylie and Kylie, of Castle Rock, Colorado, and Jodie Bagg of Atlanta, Georgia; sister, Ann Wales and brother-in-law, Rodney of Mangum, Oklahoma; brother, Don Schmidt of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma; brother-in-law, Jerry Bagg, of Colorado Springs, Colorado; sister-in-law, Annie Reid ofDes Moines, Iowa; aunt, Donna Adams of Lone Wolf, Oklahoma; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Lowell-Tims Chapel on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 10:00 am with Rev. Bruce Davis officiating. A visitation has been scheduled from 3:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday, July 26, 2015.
