FLETCHER-WILSON

Tavia Jene Fletcher-Wilson, age 67, of Mangum, passed away Monday afternoon, April 30, 2012, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital, in Oklahoma City.

Tavia was born in Pampa, Texas, on December 18, 1944, to Truman and Grace (Hartwell) Fletcher. In 1946, the family moved to Mangum where Tavia graduated, in 1963, from Mangum High School. She married Larry Parsons and they had two children Carrie and Christopher Parsons. She owned and operated Tavia"s Flowers and then worked as receptionist for Dr. Jim Ambrose. In 1998, she married Bill Wilson and together they ran Mr. Bill"s until 2010, when they retired.

Tavia had a strong faith in God on whom she depended as she lived a full life devoted to family and friends. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and being involved in each of their lives; she was an avid fan and photographer of her granddaughter"s softball team. Her favorite pastimes included collecting antiques, decorating, and traveling. She looked forward each year to the MHS Alumni festivities. Her dogs Dixie and Dandy were a big part of her life. Tavia was a member of ESA (Epsilon Sigma Alpha) and Wildflowers, and worked with the Greer Country Museum Board.

Preceded in death by her parents and one grandson Lance Griffis, she is survived by husband Bill Wilson of Mangum; two children, Carrie Griffis of Willow and Kenneth, and Christopher Parsons of Seminole; four grandchildren, Anneliese Rogers and her husband Rodney and Cody Griffis and Jamie of Willow, Sarah Bogart of Mangum, and Callee Stuart and her husband Paul of Tulsa; seven great grandchildren, Luke, Beau, Zeke, Laramie, Callie, Cade, and Lily; two sisters, Rhona Fletcher and her husband Jesse of Colorado Springs, and Trudy Stumpff of Tulsa; father-in-law, Addie Wilson of Duncan and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Tavia Fletcher-Wilson will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 5, 2012, at the Church of New Beginnings with Pastor Shawn Johnson officiating. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
