Taylor Michelle Hitchcock, age 8, of Altus, passed into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday afternoon, June 17, 2014, at OU Children"s Hospital, in Oklahoma City, following a drowning accident at Lake Altus.
Taylor was born in Altus, on September 28, 2005, to Richard Hitchcock and Julie (Martin) Hitchcock. A student at Sunset Elementary, she had just completed the second grade. Taylor was a fun, loving little girl who loved going to church, playing with her friends and being with her family. Taylor was a faithful attender at First Baptist Church, in Altus, and in April of this year she made a profession of her faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior.
Survived by her parents, Richard Hitchcock of Altus and Julie Ballard of Mangum; grandparents, John Hitchcock of Altus and Paula Rapp of Lebanon, Missouri; uncles, Andrew Hitchcock and Timothy Hitchcock of Kansas City, Missouri; great grandparents, Jesse and Mary Ruth Busby of Altus and Alga Hitchcock, of Altus, with whom she lived, along with many other relatives and a multitude of friends.
Funeral services for Taylor Hitchcock will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 21, 2014, at First Baptist Church with Dr. Jeff Moore and Pastor Doug Altom officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus.
The family will greet friends from 6 until 8 p.m., on Friday evening at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
