Obituary for Telford H. Wooten
Telford (Ted) Harrison Wooten was born on December 20, 1935 in Clarkesville, Georgia to Hiram Walter and Nancy Lydia (Smith) Wooten. He grew up on the family farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. His family had an apple orchard and his mom had a bee farm that she attended. Ted graduated in 1953 from Clarkesville High School where he was very active in football and basketball. He then attended North Georgia Trade School for two years before enlisting in the United States Air Force. While serving in the Air Force he met the love of his life, Belva Joyce Littlefield. They married in the First Baptist Church in Altus on May 31, 1958 and have been members for 58 years. Ted worked at Percy Thompson's Electric, Harold's Heating & Air, and W & W Refrigeration before opening his own business in 1981, Ted Wooten's Heating & Air. He sold his business to Danny Thompson in 2001 where he continued to serve as a consultant to him for several years. The last few years he worked for Wilmes Superstore and Wilmes Ford.

Ted loved to walk quietly in the woods at his home in Georgia where he hunted for turkey and squirrels. After moving to Oklahoma, he enjoyed racoon hunting with his friends and his dog "Sambo." He loved turkey hunting with his friends and son-in-laws, but he had a real passion for hunting quail with his beloved bird dog "Queenie." He loved Nascar and fishing and went on several fishing trips with his friends to Canada and Mexico that were a real joy for him to talk about. He loved spending time with his family and watching his children and grandchildren play all sports and perform in many musicals and choir concerts. He loved the holidays when everyone got together to enjoy God's goodness that God bestowed on his family. In 2011, Ted taught himself how to whittle where he always wrote on the bottom of his work Isaiah 40:31. "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."

Ted in his later years delighted in driving through Altus at 15 mph just to annoy the other drivers. He loved fried apple pies. He enjoyed teasing and joking with all that he met. He was Ted Baby, Pop, Pops, Monkey and Dad. But we will remember him for being a Christian father, grandfather, and great-grandfather that showed us how to love God. Today, He is rejoicing in Heaven!

Ted was preceded in death by his parents Hiram Walter & Nancy Lydia Wooten; father and mother in-law, Raymond & Loretta Littlefield. Also by his sisters, Faye and Christine Wooten, and Berma Jean (Wooten) Bennett of Clarkesville, Georgia. Ruth (Wooten) Davis and brother Raymond Wooten of Greenville, South Carolina. A nephew Tommy Kittle of Jacksonville, Florida.

Survivors include wife Belva Joyce (Littlefield) Wooten of the home.
