Teresa Gallardo, age 83 of Altus, passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at her home in Altus.
Teresa was born in Marlow, Oklahoma on July 14, 1933 to her parents Alvino Billareal and Genoneva (Florez) Billarreal. Growing up, the family lived in several places and when Teresa was 16 years old she married the love of her life Rufus Gallardo in Colorado. They enjoyed over 67 years of marriage together until Rufus passed away in 1993. After getting married they lived in Plainview, Texas until they settled in Altus where they raised the family and have lived for many years. She was a member of the Grace Living Fellowship Church in Altus where she was a strong prayer warrior always ready with prayers for anyone in need. Teresa enjoyed crochet and embroidery, and working in her garden and she always took great care of her family. Teresa treasured time spent with her family and her grandbabies. She will be missed very much.
Preceded in death by her parents and her husband; two sons, Carlos Gallardo and Joe Angel Gallardo three brothers; Victor, Alvino, and Mike Billarreal; three sisters; Francis Gamez, Silvia Billarreal, and Rosa Estraca; two grandchildren, Avey Jr. Rico, Johnny Esquievel and one great granddaughter, Renae Gallardo; Teresa is survived by six sons, Ben Gallardo and wife Odelia of Altus; Julian Gallardo of Oklahoma City; Jesse Gallardo and wife Priscilla of San Antonio; Danny Gallardo and wife Diana of Oklahoma City; Luis Gallardo of Altus; and Rudy Gallardo of Oklahoma City; five daughters, Josephine Griego of Lubbock; Sisilia Gallardo of Altus; Carmen Ortiz of Oklahoma City; Pauline Molina and husband J.R. of Altus; and Patsy Hillegass of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Fred Billarreal and wife Debbie of Altus; and Joe Billarreal and wife Nora of Quanah, Texas; three sisters; Victoria Gonzalez of Dallas; Janie Castillo of Altus; and Virginia Becerra of Oklahoma City; 33 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; 23 plus great great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; other family members and friends.
Family service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home in Altus.
There will be a family vigil at 6:00 pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at the Grace Living Fellowship Church in Altus.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel in Altus. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
