Obituary for Theda Allgood
Theda Allgood, age 76, passed away Wednesday, January 17th, 1996 at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Pate officiating. Interment will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Mrs. Allgood was born May 7th, 1919 in Duke, Oklahoma to Hayes and Myrtle (Eddins) E.J. Allgood Wampler. On September 11, 1937, Theda and Dr. John Allgood were united in marriage at Duncan, OK. They opened the Allgood Clinic in Altus in 1940 where Theda assisted in the delivery of over 3500 babies. Dr. John Allgood preceded her in death on February 4, 1978. Mrs. Allgood continued practicing Nursing at the Clinic with Dr. E.J. Allgood until May of 1995.
Memorials may be made in Mrs. Allgood's name to the Oklahoma Medical Research.
Survivors include: her daughter, Mary Jane Stephenson and her husband Bob of Altus, OK; her brother, Wilbur Wampler of Duke, OK; two grandchildren, Cheryl Anderson and Carolyn Wiseman; two grandsons-in-law, Kenny Anderson and Waylen Wiseman; five great-grandchildren, Kenna and Kaylee Anderson, Robby, Russell and Mitchell Wiseman.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dr. J.M. Allgood on February 4, 1978; two brothers and one sister.
