Thomas Anderson Langford, Sr., age 70, of Mangum, passed away Monday evening, March 19, 2012, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital
Mr. Langford was born in Duke on January 21, 1942, to William Anderson and Mattie Lucille (Byrom) Langford. He attended school in Mangum, graduating in 1960, and shortly after graduation he spent time in Vietnam while serving his country in the United States Army. After being discharged, Tom did auto body work in Amarillo, later moving to Oklahoma City where he worked in body work and house construction for many years. In 1975, Tom married Ruth Ann Lee Gibson and she preceded him in death in 1999. In 2000, he moved back to Mangum and did dry wall construction.
Preceded in death by his father; his wife, two sisters, Dorothy Langford and Joyce Hicks; one brother-in-law, R.L. Kerbo; one son, Jonathan Langford and one daughter, Tamara Langford he is survived by his mother, Mattie Langford of Mangum; six children, Rexy Whitestar and husband Henry of Oklahoma City, Tommy Ray Langford of Mangum; Richard Hollis of Oklahoma City; Robert Seal III of Oklahoma City, Tonya Gales and husband Johnnie of Bethany and T.J. Langford and wife Jamie of Oklahoma City; one sister, Mary Kerbo of Moore; two brothers, David Langford of Mangum and Rodney Langford and wife Sue of Amarillo, Texas; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren along with many other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Thomas Langford, Sr., will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, March 22, 2012, at Duke Rock Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Greer Funeral Home of Mangum.
