Obituary for Thomas Fields
Thomas Lynford Fields, 48, formerly of Altus, passed away at his home in Lawton Saturday, January 16, 2010.
Thomas was born July 2, 1961, to Thomas Ellenberg and Warrenlene Fields in Altus, Oklahoma. He attended school in Altus and later joined the National Guard where he proudly served his country. He also worked at the Cotton Compress in Altus for over ten years.
Thomas was baptized at an early age at the Macedonia Baptist Church in Altus and later attended the Deliverance Temple for several years before moving first to Snyder and then to Lawton. He married Annie Mae Clegg August 1, 2003, in Sherman, Texas.
He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. He could convince anyone of anything and had a vibrant sense of humor. Thomas loved to fish and read his Bible. Preceded in death by his father, Thomas Ellenberg, his mother, Warrenlene Fields, his grandparents, Hence Fields and Eddie Marie Fields, Thomas is survived by his loving wife, Annie Mae Fields of Durant, Oklahoma; one daughter, Tora Noelle Fields of Kansas City; three brothers, Michael Fields of San Diego, California, Charles Martin and wife Lillian of Oklahoma City, and Kevin Martin of Tucson, Arizona; an uncle, Eddie Goodlow of Virginia; his nieces and nephews, Lakeisha Camar, Tamekia Smith, Aisha Cusic, Michael Fields, Jr., Lamycal Fields, Jerome Rice, Keviesha Martin, Matlene Martin, Jonathan Martin, and Artejai Martin; other relatives including Coval and Sadilia Thomas, James Taylor, Natlyn Christian, John Foster, John Sterling, and Byron Foster, and many special friends.
Funeral Services for Thomas Fields will be held 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010, at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Reverend De W. Jones and Elder Richard Atkinson officiating. Interment will follow at Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
