Thomas (Tom) William Morgan, age 75, of Altus, passed away on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at his residence.
Mr. Morgan was born on March 9, 1932, to Charles and Loretta Marie (Neises) Morgan. On May 28, 1951, he graduated from the Notre Dame Academy in Mitchell, South Dakota. He married Sylvia Sue Lovelady on May 1, 1965 in Altus and she preceded him in death on May 30, 2006.
Moving to Altus, forty-three years ago, from Etain AFB, France, Mr. Morgan retired at Altus Air Force Base with twenty-three years of service in Flight Operations. During his career he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Commendation AMedat. He was also a member of the 1st MOB/COMM "First in-Last Out" and a longtime member of the Southside Baptist Church of Altus.
Preceded in death by his wife Sylvia, he is survived by three children, Larry Morgan and wife Monica, S, Suzanne Morgan and Sharon K. Powers and husband Jack; four sisters, Elaine Goldammer, Gloria Ann Arbuckle, Mary Carol Smith and Colleen Fitzgerald and husband Steve; two brothers, Alan "Chuck" F Morgan and wife Lorraine and Ronnie Morgan and wife Barbara "Barb"; five grandchildren, Karl Lang, Jr., Sarah E. Powers, Joshua Lang, Katie Powers and Jennifer K. Lang along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Tom Morgan will be at 10 a.m., Monday May 12, 2007, at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Duree officiating. Interment will follow at Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home of Altus. Memorials may be made in the name of Thomas Morgan to the Southside Baptist Church.
The family will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home on Sunday May 13, 2007 from 7 to 9 p.m.
