Thurman M. Steen


Thurman M. "Rusty" Steen, 69, lifetime resident of Jackson County died at the Jackson County Memorial Hospital. Services are scheduled for Saturday at 10:30 a, at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel, 1100 East Tamarack Road. Officiating will be Bill Osborne. Burial will be in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims funeral Home.

Steen was born July 19, at Hess and was the son of T.H. and Ella Steen. He married Irene J. Bass October 20, 1948 in Vernon, Texas. He was a Veteran of World War II serving in the Army and was a member of the V.F.W., American Legion, and D.A.V. He was retired form the City of Altus Electrical Department and was a member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ.

Survivors include one brother, Herman Steen of Eldorado, three sisters, Lilliann Brunson, Alice Kirby and Dorotha Lovett all of Altus.

He was preceded in death by his wief and two sisters.
