Obituary for Thurman Smith VanBurkleo
Thurman Smith VanBurkleo age 89 of Blair, Oklahoma died May 15, 1996 at Park Lane Manor Nursing Home in Altus, Oklahoma. He was born April 8, 1880 to Dr. Benjamen and Mary Elizabeth (Smith) VanBurkleo in Beaman, Mo. Petis County. He married Keren Jolly December 28, 1904 in Paris, Texas. He had taught school at Friendship, Warren and Harmony for several years. He moved to southwest Oklahoma in 1917 from Texas.

Funeral services for Thurman Smith VanBurkleo are scheduled for May 17, 1969 at 10:00am in Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. John Kirby. Burial will follow at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.

Thurman Smith VanBurkleo is survived by his wife Keren of the home; one Surrell VanBurkleo , Wichita, Kansas, one daughter, Mrs. Edith Ingram, Altus, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren.
