Tom Dalton Matthews age 75, of Altus, Oklahoma died March 6, 1967 at Memorial Hospital in Altus. Tom was born June 11, 1891in Stoneville, North Carolina to Robert and Mollie (Roach) Matthews He married Hattie Conley December 1916 in Honeygrove, Texas. Tom was a carpenter and builder. He had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma since 1921 and member of the First Baptist Church in Altus.
Services for Tom Dalton Matthews are scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 1967 at 10:00am in Tims Chapel, Altus, officiated by Rev. C. L. Abercrombie. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
Tom Dalton Matthews is survived by his wife, Hattie of the home; one son, Thomas Matthews, Midwest City, Oklahoma; three sisters, Mrs. John Murray, Leaksville. North Carolina; Mrs. George Matthews, Leadsville, North Carolina; Mrs. Lottie Sims Leadsville, North Carolina; one brother, Buster Matthews, Leaksville, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews.
