Obituary for Toni T. Sauseda
Toni T. Sauseda, 79, long time resident of Mangum, Oklahoma passed away Monday, August 30, 2021, surrounded by her family.
Toni was born May 11, 1942, in Pineville, Louisiana to James and Henrietta (Diaz) Torres. She was raised and educated around Bunkie, Louisiana. On November 23, 1960, Toni married Emilio Sauseda at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in LeCompte, Louisiana. This marriage was blessed with five children: Ricky, Gary, Genny, Debbie, and Ginger. In 1971, the Sauseda's relocated to Mangum, Oklahoma in search of better opportunities for their young family. Toni was a hard-working and dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother. She was an amazing cook who enjoyed creating special meals and goodies for her family. She strived daily to maintain a clean home and environment for her household, which she doted on much of the time. To Toni, family was first in all things. As a proud, diligent homemaker, most of her daily routine consisted of ensuring their safety, happiness, and well-being. Every task, big or small was completed to perfection and with a mother’s love.
Toni was a devout Catholic and was unashamed to be part of the body of believers. She trusted in the awesome power of prayer and was faithful to her religious duties her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty -four years Emilio Sauseda; her son Gary Sauseda and her two sisters: Ester Delaney and Josephine “Peppa” Hernandez.
Left to honor Toni’s loving memory are her son, Ricky Sauseda and wife Rosemary of Lawton, Oklahoma; three daughters, Genny Dyer and husband Bert of Mangum, Oklahoma, Debbie Embrey, and husband Bret of Azle, Texas, and Ginger Norton and husband Cary of Mangum, Oklahoma; two brothers, John Torres, James Torres; two sisters, Marie Streetman, Lena Rodriguez and husband Pete; Ten Grandchildren, Victor Serna Jr. and Joseph both Rockford, Illinois, Brian Bustos and wife Lisa of Midland, Texas, Misty Jackson and husband Jason of Altus, Oklahoma, James Sauseda and wife Halie of Edmond, Oklahoma, John Sauseda of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Ashley Myer of Elk City, Oklahoma, Bailey Sauseda of Mangum, Oklahoma, Jenna Garcia and husband Dane of Washington D.C, Heather Dyer of Elk City, Oklahoma, fourteen great grandchildren, a special sister in law Louise Strange of Forest Hill, Louisiana, and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
