Obituary for Tracy Tims Tavares
Tracy Tims Tavares passed away on Tuesday, August 20, 2013, in Rhode Island Hospital, Providence, Rhode Island. A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 10:00 AM at the Lowell-Tims Chapel with the Reverend Keith Wiginton officiating.
Tracy was born on May 3, 1965, to Nancy Ray Tims and Michael "Mickey" Paul Tims in Altus, Oklahoma. She graduated from Altus High School in 1983. While in school she was very active in the music department and enjoyed singing in various musicals and plays, as will as performing in the Christian band "Precept." She attended Central State University in Edmond, Ok., and Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford, Ok., where she was honored to represent the school as Miss Southwestern in the Miss Oklahoma pageant. She also was "Miss Queen to the West" in the Oklahoma pageant the next year. She became a hairdresser and worked in that profession for many years. She is a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Altus, Oklahoma.
Tracy married Paul Allred and moved to Baltimore, Maryland. To this union they had two children: Meghan Elizabeth Allred and Paige Elyse Allred. She also had a son, Jace Paul Tavares.
Tracy was preceded in death by her grand parents, Nell and Roy Tims and Effie and Harold Myers. Survivors include her precious children, Meghan, Paige and Jace; her mother Nancy Tims; her father, Mickey Tims and Mickie of Oklahoma City, Ok; her brothers Todd and wife Tara of Norman, Ok., and T.J. Liles-Tims and wife Macie of Oklahoma City, Ok. Her aunt Linda Hasley, Oklahoma City, Ok. Tracy is survived by her many cousins and life long friends.
Memorial contribution in memory of Tracy may be made to the Western Oklahoma State College Music Department.
