With our deepest sorrow, we announce that Tyler Wilmes suddenly and unexpectedly passed away at his home in Altus, Oklahoma, on April 3, 2023.
Tyler was a loving son to his parents Mike Wilmes and Brenda Walker Wilmes of Lawton, Oklahoma. He was born September 2, 1975, in Altus, Oklahoma, graduated from Lawton Eisenhower High School. And attended Cameron University. Tyler was formerly employed at Wilmes Chevrolet and had spent the last 20 years as a Land Man in the oil industry.
He is survived by his parents, Mike and Brenda Wilmes; one sister, Lindsay Wilmes McGavic and her husband Mike; his daughter, Taylor Wilmes; paternal grandparents, Paul and JoAnne Wilmes; Aunts and Uncles including; Mark Walker, Gregg Wilmes, Jeff and Kim Wilmes, Bruce and Lyn Wilmes, Scott and Lynna Wilmes and Tim Wilmes. He is also survived by many cousins, his special friend Anesha Davis and her son Landon, and many close friends who thought the world of him.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Joe and Troylene Walker, and Cousin Gene Paul Wilmes.
Tyler was an avid hunter who loved spending time with his daughter Taylor, his father Mike, uncles, and his cousins' hunting deer, turkey, waterfowl, and wild hogs on his Uncle Scott’s place. He also loved riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with a host of good friends as well.
Arrangements have been made with Lowell-Tims Funeral Home for Friday, April 14, 2023, at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel at Lowell Tims. Father David will officiate.
For those who wish, in lieu of flowers, Tyler’s family would appreciate donations being made to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital.
Services have been entrusted to Lowell - Tims Funeral Home and Crematory, Altus, Oklahoma.
