Obituary for Velma Freeman Crump
Velma "Freeman" Crump, age 73, of Dimmit, Texas was born April 26th, 1922, in Springtown, Oklahoma. She was a former resident of Eldorado, Oklahoma, having lived in Canton, Texas, later moving to Dimmitt in 1991. Mrs. Crump passed away Tuesday, April 9th, 1996, in Dimmitt, Texas after a lengthy illness.
Graveside Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 1996, in the Eldorado Cemetery with Rev. Arthur Tigert officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home, Altus. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Her body will lie in state at the Eldorado Chapel, Friday until the time of service.
Survivors include: three sons, Phil Hughes of Olton, Texas, Emery Hughes of Canton, Texas and Clinton Hughes of Dumas, Texas; two daughters, Avis Ritchie of La Plata, MD, and Jeanne King of Colorado Springs, CO; one sister, Irene West of Altus, OK; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
