Obituary for Vera Hudgens
Vera Hudgens passed away Monday, December 5th, 1994 in the Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
She was born January 31st, 1928 near Friendship, Oklahoma, the daughter of J.L. and the late Louella (Thomas) Nation. She was a lifelong resident of Jackson County and graduated from Friendship High School in 1946.
Vera married Bill Hudgens in Mangum, OK February 13, 1946. She went to work at the North American Compress in 1955. When the compress was bought out by the Oklahoma Cotton Coop, she worked for them from 1963 until she retired in April of 1991. Vera was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
Mrs. Hudgens was preceded in death by: her Mother, Louella Nation, December 14, 1975.
Survivors include: Bill, her husband of 48 years; her father, J.L. Nation of Altus, OK; three brothers and sister-in-laws, J.W. and Evelyn Nation of Clarksville, TN, Doyle and Marilyn Nation of Frederick, OK and Junior and Jo Nation of Lawton, OK; four sisters and brother-in-laws, Trula and Charles Kastner and Margie and Dwight Watson of Friendship, OK, Eddie and Betty Fisher of Altus, OK and Darrell and Pattie Greer of Wichita, KS; and a host of nieces and nephews.
