Obituary for Verna Lee MCaskill
Verna Lee MCaskill passed away September 5, 1997 at the age of 93. She was born August 11, to Austin and Cynthia Perryman at the family home southwest of Frederick, Oklahoma. She grew up there with her nine brothers and sisters. She attended Oklahmoa A&M College where she met her husband. The late Jack W. MCaskill. They were married June 8, 1927 and spent most of heir married life farming and raising their family near Altus, Oklahoma. They were active members of Humpherys Baptist Church. Verna belonged to the Ozark Home Demonstration Club.
Jack passed away in 1968. Verna moved to Corpus Christi in 1975 to be near her children. She was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church and her Priscilla Sunday School Class. Mrs. MCsskill is survived by her children, Jack and Pat MCaskill of Denver, Colorado, and Lila and Roy Huling of Corpus Christi, Texas; her 5 grandchildren, Kim Huling, Rick Huling, Jeff MCaskill, Chris MCaskill, and Julie Bryant, her two great grandchildren, Joe Huling and Conner MCaskill. A memorial service and interment will be held in Altus, Oklahoma.
In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to ; Koinonia Homes@ First Baptist Church, 3115 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas, 78404.
Memorial service will be at 2:00pm Tuesday at Lowell-Tims Chapel with Sonny Tims officiating.
