Obituary for Vesta Butler
Vesta Butler Vesta Mae Butler was born August 19, 1908 in Elmer,, Oklahoma. She was the daughter of the late Joseph R. and Mildred Heighton Woolley. She died December 15, 2000 in Altus, Oklahoma. She married Lee Roy (Dee) Butler, July 27, 1929 in the Elmer Methodist Parsonage and he preceded her in death on April 11, 1981. Vesta was life long resident of Elmer and long time and very active member of the Elmer Methodist Church since 1927. She was a homemaker and member of the Eastern Star. Survivors include: Three Children: Vereda Knight and husband Grover Altus, Oklahoma Coy Butler and wife Jeanean Elmer, Oklahoma Terry Butler and wife Sammie Altus, Oklahoma Nine Grandchildren and Thirteen Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Carroll D Butler, six sisters and three brothers. Services for Vesta Mae Butler are scheduled for 1:00 PM, Monday December 18, 2000 at the Elmer Methodist Church with Rev. Frank Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at the Hess Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
