Obituary for Vicki Louise Walker
Vicki Louise Walker, 59, of Altus, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital.
Vicki was born June 19, 1949, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Edward Lee and Nina Louise (Rhodes) Walker. She attended school in California, and her family moved around the United States due to her father"s career in the Navy. After her father"s retirement, the family settled in Granite, Oklahoma in 1973.
Vicki had several careers, one of which was a window glasscutter. She worked in Rosenberg, Texas for several years. She and her children moved to Altus in 1979, and she loved being a homemaker and mother. Her favorite hobbies included listening to all kinds of music, dancing, and singing.
Vicki is survived by her three daughters, Sherry Cano of Rosenberg, Texas, Yulanda Cano and husband Blas Rendon of Arlington, Texas, and Victoria Cano and husband Joe Alcorta of Altus; one sister, Terri Esparza and husband Victor; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Wynter Esparza, Tori Cano, Corinna Casias, Victor Gonzales, Savannah Alcorta, George Alcorta, and Roxanne Alcorta; four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Xavier, Jessie, and Jada; two nephews, Jonathan Esparza and Jarrod Esparza; two nieces, Tammy Smith and Nina Walker, and her long-time friend, Joe Grady, of Altus.
Her parents, one brother, Ricky Walker, and one granddaughter, Desiree Casias, preceded Vicki in death.
Memorial Services for Vicki Walker will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Lowell-Tims Chapel in Altus. Arrangements are under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
