Obituary for Vickie Lou Sadler
Vickie Lou Sadler, 55, of Altus, passed away Tuesday, February 15th, 2011, at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus.
Vickie was born October 21, 1956, in Mangum, Oklahoma, to Lloyd and Ethel (Sells) Sadler. She graduated from Altus High School in 1976. She loved to walk everywhere in Altus, and when she wasn't walking, she was riding her bicycle. One of Vickie's favorite things to do was to take her nieces and nephews walking around town and treating them with a meal at McDonald's and the park. Vickie was an avid reader of all kinds of books. She also loved to crochet and cook. Vickie learned to drive at the age of 49 with the help of her uncle, Talma Sadler. She was awarded secretary of the year at Jackson County Memorial Hospital. She worked at JCMH for nine years, from 1979 as a nurse's aide until 1988, when she started working as an operating room unit secretary for twenty-three years. Vickie lived all her life in Altus near her family and friends. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Preceded in death by her father, Lloyd Sadler on January 24, 2003, and her mother Ethel Sadler September 24, 2005, Vickie is survived by her only son, Jeremy Sadler and Katie of Longview, Texas; three grandchildren, Addison and Gavin Woodward of Longview, and Shane Logsdon of Vernon, Texas; two brothers, Kim Sadler and wife Mary of St. Louis, Missouri, Ronnie Sadler and wife Denise of Altus, Tammie Villeda and husband Rutilio of Vernon, Texas, and Sandra Lockett of Vernon; her nieces and nephews, Amber and Tracy Smith of Faxon, Oklahoma, Heather and Terry Garcia of Corinth, Texas, Chelsea Sadler of St. Louis, Jonathan and Alex Sadler of Altus, Kasey Sadler and BettyJo Wirth of Altus, Kanyon Sadler, Jamie Fixico, Steven Fixico, and Skylar Smith, Ryan Sadler, and Jeremy Young, all of Altus, Danny Villeda, Michael Sadler, Timothy Romero, all of Vernon, Texas; great-nieces and great-nephews, Brody and Kenadi Smith, Diego and Hailey Garcia, Kasey Sadler, Jr., Kaden and Kristian Sadler, Lily Winston, Preslie Vera, Braylea Young, Jaxon Sadler, Chevy Villeda, Xxavion Romero, Keaton and Peyton Fixico, and Parker Smith.
The family will greet friends Thursday, February 17, 2011, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lowell Tims Funeral Home.
Funeral Services for Vickie Sadler will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 18, 2011, at Lowell-Tims Chapel. Interment will follow at the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
