Following high school, she enlisted in the United States Army and proudly served as medic.
In 1972, Virginia married Jerry Stephens. They made their home in Gould, Oklahoma. Virginia was a caretaker to her family, always making sure everyone was always taken care of. She was a homemaker and loved doting on her children, especially her grandchildren. Saying that Virginia loved watching OU softball and OU football would be a huge understatement. She also enjoyed going to watch her son Gary race sprint cars. Virginia leaves a legacy of devotion and love for her family.
Virginia was proceeded in death by her father, Tony Robert Bergman, mother, Florence Lucille Royal Bergman and her husband of forty-seven years, Jerry Stephens who passed in March 2023.
Virginia is survived by her three sons; Gary Stephens and wife Cindy, Terry Callaham and Joey Stephens; three daughters, Christy Waterman and husband Clay, Melissa Stephens and Elane Still; her grand grandchildren, Alexis Hall, Gunner Still, Chris Waterman, Casey Anderson, John Michael Stephens, Jalyn Wilson, Krystal Demoss, Matthew Stephens, Stormy Riggs, Samantha Weir, her brothers, Wayne Bergman, Bobby Bergman, Donald Bergman, and Mike Bergman
