W. C. (Dub) Thompson



W. C. (Dub) Thompson was born on August 3, 1914, he passed away September 18, 1997 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital In Altus. "Dub" as he was known to his friends and family had lived in Eldorado over 20 years. Previous to his move to Eldorado he had farmed several years in the Lubbock, Texas area. He served in WWII in the Navy. "Dub" was a long time member and deacon of the Eldorado First Baptist Church. He is survived by his daughter Sharla and her husband Lee Sandlin of Raleigh, North Carolina, two granddaughters, Christy and Amber, two brothers Lester Thompson of Eldorado and Arvel Thompson of Hobbs, New Mexico., and a sister Faye Hurst of Altus, Oklahoma, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday, September 20, 1997 at 2:00 p.m. in the Eldorado First Baptist Church with Rev. Gene Foreman officiating. Burial will follow in the Eldorado Cemetery under the direction of Lowell Tims Funeral Home. He will lie in state at the Eldorado Chapel Friday afternoon.

Dub was preceded in death by his parents; Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Thompson, two brothers: Harvey and Randell Thompson and Three sisters; Ella Mae Thompson, Georgie and Willie Spradlin.
