Obituary for Wanda Ruth Houck
Wanda Ruth Houck, beloved wife of Duane Houck, passed away on April 5, 1999. Wanda was born on January 23, 1926, to Chester and Lydia McKinney. She was raised on the Shelton Ranch near Erick, Oklahoma. She was a loving daughter to her parents, and a precious sister to her siblings, Lucille Cherry, Frank McKinney, Winnie Russell, Dixie Helm and Glenn McKinney.

She was an active and obedient girl with numerous friends and graduated from Erick High School.

She married Duane Houck of Altus on August 17, 1968, in Altus, Oklahoma.

Wanda was a woman with a sweet and gentle spirit, a diligent and enthusiastic keeper of the home and a wife who honored and adored her husband. she was an excellent wife, far above jewels an was a woman of dignity and trust. Her children have blessed her and Duane praises her.

Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Lydia McKinney; her first husband, Delmar Jones, who died at a young age; her oldest son, Chad Jones; her sister Lucille "Sis' Cherry; and her brother, Frank McKinney.

Wanda has left Duane Houck, her husband; children, Doug Jones and wife Jana of Norman, Oklahoma, Brenda Price and husband John of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Joel Houck of Albuquerque, New Mexico and daughter-in-law, Mary McCue and husband John of Overland Park, Kansas.

She also leaves behind six beloved grandchildren, Todd and Melody Jones, Keith Adams, J.J. Price, Janae Jones and Joey Lynn Houck.

Wanda was a loyal and caring friend and a faithful member of the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ. She will be missed and remembered lovingly by her family, friends and her brothers and sisters in Christ.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 7, 1999 at 2:30pm at the Elm and Hudson Church of Christ in Altus, Oklahoma, with Bill Osborne officiating and Ed Lobough assisting. Burial will follow in the Altus City Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home. Memorials may be made in Mrs. Houck's name to Westview Boys Home in Hollis, Oklahoma or the charity of your choice.

The family of Wanda Houck will greet friends at Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Tuesday, April 6, from 6 pm --8 pm.
