William Burton Tarpley age 50, of Altus, died June 8, 1967 at Memorial Hospital in Altus, Oklahoma.
William was born May 23, 1917 in Tipton, Oklahoma to Porter and Hallie (Grimes) Tarpley in Tipton, Oklahoma. He married Bernice Brogdon January 13, 1940.
William work as a City Employee, working for the County 13 years and the city for the past 7 years. He was a member of the Blair Riding Club, and coached Little League Baseball He had been a resident of southwest Oklahoma all of his life.
Services for William Burton Tarpley are scheduled for Saturday June 10, 1967 at 2:30 pm at the Southside Baptist Church, Altus, officiated by Rev. Noel George and Forrest Weeks. Burial will follow in the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.
William is survived by his wife, Bernice of the home in Altus; one son, Dewayne, of the home; four sisters, Mrs. Ohmer Barnes, Corpus Christi, Texas; Mrs. J. W. Penland, Pampa, Texas; Mrs. Garland Gray, Pampa, Texas; Mrs. George Gray, Altus, Oklahoma; mother and father Mr. and Mrs. Porter Tarpley.
