Obituary for William Floyd Bruce
William Floyd Bruce, age 58, of Blair, passed away April 29, 1983 at Jackson County Memorial Hospital in Altus. He was born January 8, 1925 in Princeton, Indiana. He was a veteran of WWII, serving 21 years, four in the Army and seventeen in the Air Force. He married Jo Katherine Apgar on April 25, 1948.
William was a POW in WWII. He received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart and retired from the service in April, 1971. He then was employed by Civil Service in the 443rd AMS, C-5 Simulator.
Survivors include his wife of the home, one son, Charles Bruce and wife Sandra of Cheyenne, Wyoming; two daughters Lennis Barringer and husband Robert of Tucson, Arizona and Danika Jo Bruce, of Terre Haute, Indiana.
Services with full military honors will be at the United Memorial Methodist Church on April 30th, 1983 at 10:00. Colvin Funeral Home, Princeton, Indiana, is in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Local arrangements are with Tims Funeral Home, Altus, Oklahoma.
