Obituary for William Kenneth Garner
William Kenneth Garner was born February 4th, 1949 at Byars, Oklahoma. He died on September 10th, 2002. He spent nearly his entire life in Altus where he owned and operated his Pawn Shop. Ken was a member of the First Baptist Church in Altus. A graduate of Altus High School, he was involved with Promises/Keepers and was very active with the Jaycees. Ken married April Dawn Grubbs on January 22, 1999 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Survivors include his wife, April Garner of the home; his father, Stanford Garner of Altus, Oklahoma; two sons, William Scott Garner of the home in Altus and Garrett Gannon Garner also of Altus; his mother and father-in-law, John and Beverly Warner of Weatherford, Oklahoma; three Kelly Grubbs and A. J. Grubbs of Weatherford, Oklahoma and Brandy Cook of Elk City, Oklahoma; one nephew, Tanner Cook of Elk City. He is also survived by Sue Lynn Ehmsem of Greeley, Colorado and a host of other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Mary Mildred Garner.
Services for Ken Garner are scheduled for 3:00 p.m., Monday, September 16, 2002 at the Lowell-Tims Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Eugene Foreman and Rod Smith officiating. Interment will follow at the Altus Cemetery under the direction of Lowell-Tims Funeral Home.
